Wedding Florist in Yonkers, NY · Hudson Views, Garden Ceremonies & Banquet Hall Décor

Yonkers is the biggest city in Westchester and the most varied place we work. In one month we might build a Hudson-view reception with the Palisades going rust across the water, a ceremony in one of the historic gardens on the hill, a three-hundred-guest banquet hall wedding with a mandap, and a rooftop celebration downtown. Let's Bloom Florist brings ceremony structures, centerpieces at scale, installations, draping, lighting and rentals to Yonkers from one Westchester studio, with one crew and one email that answers within a business day.

  • Hudson-view receptions
  • Historic garden ceremonies
  • Banquet halls for 300+
  • Mandaps, chuppahs & cultural ceremonies

Yonkers Weddings: The River, the Gardens and the Halls

Rooms that face the Hudson

The reception rooms along the waterfront and up on the ridge were booked for one reason, and it's outside the window. The river faces west, which means about twenty minutes of gold light when the sun drops behind the Palisades, then five minutes of glare, then dark. We plan around the twenty: toasts inside it if the timeline allows, candles already lit before it goes, and no mirror or acrylic near the glass or the whole room squints. The palette gets borrowed from what's out there, gray-green water and a lot of sky, so white, green and blue-gray sit right, and in October the rust off the cliffs comes indoors as dahlias and copper ribbon. And the ceremony never faces straight into that window, or the couple is a silhouette in every frame.

The gardens on the hill

Yonkers has two of the most photographed garden spaces in the county, the walled garden at Untermyer with its columns and reflecting pools, and the terraced grounds at the Boyce Thompson site, plus the lawns behind the old estates along the ridge. A garden ceremony needs almost nothing built, which is the point. Two grounded urns beside a pair of existing columns, or a low asymmetrical piece that leaves the view open, will beat a rented arch fighting the wind on an open terrace. Check the permit rules early, since public gardens have them, and design for stone rather than lawn: weighted bases, nothing staked, and every candle in a hurricane.

The banquet halls and the big celebrations

More large-scale weddings happen in Yonkers than anywhere else in the county, and many of them are cultural celebrations with real structure to them: a mandap, a chuppah, a ceremony that runs its own timeline, a guest list well past three hundred. Those rooms are usually windowless, which means the light has to be brought in: ceiling draping, amber uplights on the walls, pin spots on every centerpiece and candles at three heights, or the flowers go flat under a dimmed chandelier. Scale is the other rule. A medium budget spread evenly across thirty-five tables makes thirty-five thin tables, so we concentrate the height and the density along the path from the doors to the dance floor, where every wide photo gets taken, and keep the corners simple.

How Our Wedding Designers Work in Westchester, NY

  1. 1

Step 1 · Send the inquiry

Fill in the form or email inquiries@letsbloomflorist.com. Tell us the date, the venue, the guest count and the number you're working with. One of our lead designers will get back to you.

  2. 2

Step 2 · We design it, then we show you

A consultation, a deep dive into your design details, a walk-through of your venue where it helps, and a concept with palette, floor plan and stem list. When a design hangs on something a photograph won't settle, we'll mock the piece up, in our showroom or at the venue.

  3. 3

Step 3 · We build, install, flip and breakdown

We condition the flowers, design the arrangements, and flip the room into something that turns heads. Then we take it all down and leave behind nothing but beautiful memories.

A Yonkers Wedding Florist for Every Kind of Celebration in the City

Mandaps, chuppahs and ceremonies with their own rules

A mandap and a chuppah are not decorated the same way an arch is. The pillars and the front edge carry every photograph; the inside of the canopy is beautiful, expensive and barely appears in a frame, so we'll tell you where the marigolds and the garlands actually earn their money before you decide. Structures come from our own wedding décor rentals, fabric goes on before flowers, and everything is built to be carried, since these ceremonies move. Where a family's celebration runs across several days and more than one venue, the full wedding design in Westchester route keeps one palette and one crew across all of it.

Light is most of the work in a windowless hall

Ask the venue two questions before you choose a single flower: what color the house lights are and how far they dim, and whether the DJ washes the whole room in color at nine. A purple wash turns every centerpiece purple, and blue uplighting makes blush roses gray. We put it in writing with the DJ, keep color on the dance floor and the room amber, and add pin spots, which are the cheapest way we know to make a table look like it cost twice as much. That's a wedding draping and lighting plan, and in a Yonkers banquet hall it changes the photos more than another hundred stems would.

Nearby

Bronxville is minutes east and Ardsley is up the parkway, with Scarsdale and White Plains close behind. We also cross the line into New York City constantly, so a Yonkers ceremony with a Manhattan reception is an ordinary Saturday for us.

FAQ

Questions From Couples Getting Married in Yonkers

Do you design mandaps and chuppahs?

Yes, both, from our own frames. Fabric first, florals on the pillars and the front edge where the photos happen, built to be moved and struck the same night.

Can you decorate a ceremony at Untermyer or one of the public gardens?

Yes, within the site's permit rules, which we confirm in writing first. Garden ceremonies need very little built: grounded pieces on weighted bases, since nothing can be staked into stone.

Our banquet hall has no windows. What do you do about that?

Bring the light in: ceiling draping, amber uplighting, pin spots on every centerpiece and candles at three heights, coordinated with your DJ so the room doesn't turn purple at nine.

Can you handle a wedding with three hundred and fifty guests?

Yes. Thirty-five tables in three rotating designs, an escort card wall rather than a single chart, two dressed bars, and a crew sized to strike it all by the venue's deadline.

Do you work in the Bronx and Manhattan too?

Regularly. Yonkers sits on the line, and travel into the city is a plain line on the proposal.
