Reception Designers Who Think in Rooms, Not Vases
Height, rhythm and the chin-level rule
Nothing at chin height. A centerpiece between twelve and twenty-four inches tall sits exactly where seated guests' eyes are, and by the second course someone will move it to the floor. So everything is either low enough to talk over or lifted high enough on a stand to talk under. Then rhythm: the same design on thirty tables reads like a banquet, and thirty different ideas read like chaos, so we design three, a tall one, a low one and a cluster, and lay them out so the tables along the main path from the door to the dance floor get the tall ones, because those are in every wide photo, and the corners get the simple ones, because they're in none.
Candles do more than flowers after eight o'clock
By dinner the windows are dark and the room is running on whatever light it has, and flowers under a dimmed chandelier go flat. Candles in three heights fix that: tapers for the line, pillars for the weight, votives for the low glow along the table. One height looks like a restaurant; three looks like a room someone designed. Candelabras, stands and vases come through our wedding décor rentals, and the pin spots that lift each centerpiece out of a dim ballroom come from our wedding draping and lighting crew, so the table at nine looks like the table at seven.
Thirty tables or one long one
A three-hundred-guest reception at a hotel in White Plains needs mass first and detail second: the thing guests see when the doors open has to be readable from the back wall, and a medium budget spread evenly across thirty tables makes thirty slightly sad tables. A thirty-guest dinner at a restaurant in Ardsley or a backyard in Scarsdale is the opposite: one long table, every stem seen from two feet, the standard climbing as the stem count drops. Same studio, same crew, different math, and we'll walk you through which one you're planning on the first call.

Questions About Wedding Reception Décor in Westchester
Should our centerpieces be tall or low?
Both, mixed. Tall on about a third of the tables for the wide shots, low compotes on a third, bud vases and candles on the rest. All-tall doubles the budget; all-low flattens the room.
Do you provide the candles, vases and stands?
Yes, delivered and set by the same crew that installs the flowers, and struck at the end of the night.
Can you work with the venue's linens and chairs?
Yes. We'll tell you what the venue's linen color does to the flowers and suggest a swap only when it matters.
What happens to the centerpieces after the wedding?
Guests take the flowers home in paper we bring for exactly that. The vases and candles come back with us.
