Bronxville Weddings: Two Stone Churches, Two Clubs and a Hill Full of Old Houses

The churches keep the flowers

Christ Church on Sagamore Road and the Reformed Church on Pondfield Road are two of the most beautiful ceremony rooms in the county, and both are built to make you feel small, which they do to flowers as well. Altar pieces need to be four feet tall and full of mass to read from the last pew. Dark stone eats pastels and stained glass throws amber across everything, so white and green carry. Pew markers go every third row on ribbon, nothing gets taped to anything, and in a lot of parishes the altar arrangements stay for Sunday as a gift. So a Bronxville church wedding is two designs with one bouquet connecting them, and we plan it that way from the first meeting.

The clubs and the hill

Receptions land at the Field Club, at Siwanoy on the Eastchester line, or in one of the Lawrence Park houses whose staircases were built for exactly this. Club ballrooms want mixed-height centerpieces and pin spots. Houses want restraint: a garland down the banister, urns on the front steps, low arrangements under low ceilings, and LED candles wherever the house forbids flame, which is most of them. The gap between a two o'clock ceremony and a five o'clock reception is real, and we hand the maid of honor a vase of water for the bouquets before anyone gets in a car.

The village restaurants

More Bronxville couples are marrying thirty people at a time in the back rooms along Pondfield Road and Park Place, and those are the weddings where nothing hides. One long table, a runner under ten inches, place cards instead of a chart, the mantel dressed instead of an arch, and the bouquet getting the budget because it's photographed from three feet. We arrive an hour before and build in place, since there's nowhere to store flowers, and the restaurant's own candles and glassware often save the couple a rental order.

How Our Wedding Designers Work in Westchester, NY

  1. 1

Step 1 · Send the inquiry

Fill in the form or email inquiries@letsbloomflorist.com. Tell us the date, the venue, the guest count and the number you're working with. One of our lead designers will get back to you.

  2. 2

Step 2 · We design it, then we show you

A consultation, a deep dive into your design details, a walk-through of your venue where it helps, and a concept with palette, floor plan and stem list. When a design hangs on something a photograph won't settle, we'll mock the piece up, in our showroom or at the venue.

  3. 3

Step 3 · We build, install, flip and breakdown

We condition the flowers, design the arrangements, and flip the room into something that turns heads. Then we take it all down and leave behind nothing but beautiful memories.

Wedding Decorators for Bronxville's Particular Kind of Room

Designed for stone, wood and stained glass

Everything in Bronxville is old and handsome and has opinions, and the flowers have to talk to that rather than over it. We pull the palette from the church windows and the scale from the club's ceiling, and we walk each room at the hour you'll be in it before we sketch. The wedding ceremony décor and the wedding reception décor get designed as a pair, and the wedding draping and lighting plan is mostly about candles, because after dark these rooms run on almost nothing else.

What couples in Bronxville tend to book

Church florals and pew markers, bouquets and boutonnieres, a reception at one of the clubs with candelabras and mixed heights through our wedding décor rentals, and, increasingly, a restaurant dinner instead of a ballroom. Engagement parties happen at home on the hill. We see the same families for showers, weddings and mitzvahs, sometimes years apart.

Nearby

Scarsdale, Larchmont and White Plains are all within fifteen minutes and host plenty of Bronxville receptions.

FAQ

Questions From Couples Getting Married in Bronxville

Do you know the rules at the Bronxville churches?

We ask each parish for its list in writing, since they change. Typically no tape on pews, no aisle runner, no fresh petals, no open flame, and altar flowers that stay.

Can you do a small restaurant wedding in the village?

Yes, and we like them. A runner, place cards, a dressed mantel and a serious bouquet, built in place an hour before.

Do you decorate the houses in Lawrence Park?

Yes. Banister garland, urns on the steps, low centerpieces under low ceilings, LED candles where required, and nothing attached to the walls.

Can the church flowers come to the reception?

Sometimes. In several Bronxville parishes the altar pieces stay for the weekend as a gift to the congregation, so we design the reception on its own and let the bouquet carry the palette between the two rooms.
