A tent looks like a blank canvas and is the most opinionated room you will ever decorate. The trees outside cast moving shadows onto its roof through the afternoon. We keep the poles visible beneath narrow spirals of foliage, then draw fabric overhead in broad folds so the ceiling has a shape beyond the tent's seams. On round tables, low flower bowls alternate with glass candelabras; a family at dinner can still see faces across the linen. By nine, warm light under the fabric turns the white roof gold, with the dark garden just beyond the open sides.

Teaneck is one of the most genuinely mixed towns in Bergen County, and its weddings reflect that. Church ceremonies, university and civic rooms, hall weddings near Cedar Lane running a hundred to a hundred and fifty guests. Those are close-quarters rooms where nothing hides. Fewer stems, better stems, and a long table with a runner under ten inches so people can talk across it rather than around it.
