What Westchester Venues Have in Common

Westchester is a small county with five very different kinds of wedding room, and after a few hundred Saturdays here the pattern is easy to name. On the Sound, in Rye and Larchmont, the rooms are yacht clubs and shore clubs with a lawn, a view and wind that never stops. Design has to be built for weather: weighted ceremony pieces, low or heavy-based centerpieces near open doors, and greenery that reads against water and grey shingle rather than fighting it.

Above the river, in Ardsley, Yonkers and the towns on the parkway, weddings happen in old estates, mansion terraces and banquet halls with a Hudson view through the windows. The view does half the work at six o'clock and none of it at nine, so those rooms live on candlelight, amber uplighting and pin spots that keep the tables alive after the sun has gone.

North, in Armonk and Chappaqua, it's horse country: private clubs, historic inns and tents on estate lawns. A tent is the most opinionated room in the county. There are no walls to hang anything on, the center poles want wrapping rather than ignoring, the seating chart has to stand on its own legs, and by nine the bistro lights and candles are the entire lighting plan.

In White Plains the rooms are hotel ballrooms and downtown restaurants: drop ceilings, flat house light and three hundred guests who all arrive at once. Those weddings need mass first and detail second: something readable from the back wall when the doors open, draping to fix the ceiling, and an escort card wall instead of one chart so twenty people can read at the same time.

In Bronxville, Scarsdale and the parishes around those villages, the ceremony is usually a tall stone church or a temple with its own written rules. Freestanding chuppahs, altar pieces built with enough mass to read from the last pew, pew markers on ribbon and nothing taped to anything. In many parishes the altar flowers stay for Sunday, which makes a village wedding two designs joined by one bouquet.

    A consultation, a deep dive into your design details, a walk-through of your venue where it helps, and a concept with palette, floor plan and stem list. When a design hangs on something a photograph won't settle, we'll mock the piece up, in our showroom or at the venue.

    Step 3 · We build, install, flip and breakdown

    We condition the flowers, design the arrangements, and flip the room into something that turns heads. Then we take it all down and leave behind nothing but beautiful memories.

Planning Wedding Flowers & Décor in Westchester County

Church Flowers and Dinner Flowers

A Bronxville church may keep its altar flowers through Sunday, while dinner begins that evening in a separate room. We plan Wedding Ceremony Décor and Wedding Reception Décor as two installations. The parish receives its pieces before the ceremony; table flowers stay in water until the reception crew can place them. No dinner centerpiece depends on taking an altar arrangement away.

The Room at Six and Nine

A Hudson-facing room in Yonkers looks different at six o'clock and nine. We check glass, candle positions and the ceiling before drawing Wedding Draping & Lighting. A Tent Has Its Own Floor Plan

For an estate lawn in Armonk or Chappaqua, the tent drawing comes before the floral drawing. Center poles, dining aisles and the entrance determine where Wedding Décor Rentals can stand. We check base levels on the actual ground and keep glass clear of grass paths. Full Wedding & Event Design joins that placement plan to the ceremony, dinner and evening lighting.

Questions From Couples Getting Married in Westchester County

Do you cover all of Westchester County?

Yes. The ten towns listed on this page are where we work most weekends, and travel inside the county is included in the proposal. If your venue is in a town that isn't listed, email us the date and address; it's almost certainly somewhere we've been.

How far in advance should we book in Westchester?

Nine to twelve months for a Saturday between May and October, because the clubs, temples and our own calendar fill in the same order. Six months is workable for other dates, and we have built beautiful weddings in eight weeks when a date opened up.

Can one studio really handle flowers, draping, lighting and rentals?

That is the whole point of how we work. Florals, installations, draping, lighting and rentals arrive on one truck with one crew, on one invoice, and the same crew comes back for the strike.

Do you work outside Westchester too?

Regularly. New York City and New Jersey are ordinary Saturdays for us, and travel outside the county is quoted plainly as a line on the proposal.
